Our puppies are raised in our home, where they are in constant contact with people from birth. We begin the socialization process by holding each puppy and rubbing their feet, ears, and tummies, and talking to them several times a day. The puppies are raised from the beginning with children of all ages and other dogs, and cats.
Our whelping box is in the front room, and we live our lives around the puppies, with the normal daily activities we all have, watching TV, listening to music, running the vacuum. As the pups get older and their eyes have opened we begin to play with them using soft toys, and anything that squeaks. They get brushed daily as part of the routine to give them a head start to grooming.
We begin grooming ( using a clipper) when they are four weeks of age starting with their face and feet. They are then groomed once a week to help learn the process.
Our puppies are individually temperament evaluated at 49 days old, and each puppy is conformation assessed at 8 weeks of age using Pat Hastings', "The Puppy Puzzle ". We work to bring the lowest possible COI ( co-effiency inbreeding) to our puppies. I use a program to be able to determine that our pups are under 4.0. This is to provide you with the best possible breeding available, and a healthier family companion for you.
We begin housebreaking as early as five weeks or as the weather allows, beginning with leash training from the whelping box to their outside area. In the summertime we always have small wading pools so that the puppies can experience the joy of water that the breed is so inclined too.
We guarantee our pups for 2 years of all genetic health issues that are prevalent in Standard Poodles. Puppies are sold with spay/neuter contract. We occasionally do have a pup that we feel will make a great addition to your breeding program.
